Apollon the Mighty

I met eyes with the ogre, who just looked at me. Even he seemed shocked I’d just done that.^[1]

Apollon the Mighty is an Elite created for the Vengeance of the Daughter. He and his brothers, Areson the Wise and Herman, were once the nodling tattooed on Tsarina Signet's skin.

Description

Apollon was a strongman in Grimaldi's Traveling Circus on the Third Floor before Scolopendra's Nine-Tier Attack; now he appears to be a large ogre with a jagged scar across the side of his head and a thick vine branch sprouting from the side of his neck. He wears a leopard skin leotard.^[2]

Inside the circus tent, near Ringmaster Grimaldi, he stands beside a small stand with a faded sign promoting ice cream. He scoops writhing, bone-white worms into petrified cones.^[3]

Story

Book 2

Carl first sees Apollon when he and Donut are spying on the circus when they find it for the first time. ^[2] When Carl comes back and enters the tent, the ogre offers him an ice cream cone covered in the same worms as Heather the Bear. ^[4]

After Carl heals Grimaldi (thereby canceling the poison affect on the Pestiferous Vine), he gets an ice cream cone from Apollon full of parasitic worms. ^[3]
