Bautista

“I kept forgetting the man’s first name was Daniel. I clicked on his name and reassigned his chat marker from Daniel to Bautista.” ^[1]

Daniel Bautista is of Asian, possibly Filipino, descent when he enters the dungeon with his sisters and cousins. He chooses the Tigran race but regrets it later. His family is killed by Former Circus Lemurs and avenged by Carl and Donut.

He begins a romantic relationship with Katia Grim and keeps her secrets.

Description

He looked like a rejected character from Thundercats. He was a well-muscled, shirtless man, about six feet tall. He was furry and orange. Very furry. Very orange. He had the head of a human/big cat hybrid, with the orange, white, and black markings of a Siberian tiger. But unlike a tiger, his eyes had the vertical slits of a housecat. His nose and mouth were human, though covered with wisps of the orange fur. He also had a long, absurdly shaggy, tail. He also has human like hands though covered in tiger fur. The effect would be comical if the dude didn’t look as if he could rip me in half. ^[2]

He's very muscular and doesn't wear a shirt. Owns a curved sword.He had four brothers and sisters and fifteen cousins, all of which are now dead.

It was important to him to avenge his family. He's highly religious. He is a supportive boyfriend to Katia, even when her chosen course of action doesn't match his desires.

As the series progresses, he often helps out other crawlers and helps Carl organise their safe exit to the next floor.

He makes tea for his guild members every morning, which Imani loves and depends on.

As a swashbuckler he gets a bonus when he’s working with other members of his class like Tran.

He's able to cast the tame spell which he uses on his less cooperative beanie babies. He has around a thousands beanie babies that he uses as pets. Later on his sponser gives him somethings that lets him reuse beanie babies provided they live, he can only do this twice for each one.

On the sixth floor he received a shape changing ring.

Book 2

He had a quest to kill Miss Quill but was unable to finish it due to Carl and Donut killing her first. Carl gets the CockBlock Achievement for this action. They run into Bautista outside the rubble of the administrav

Book 3

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 3

Carl reaches out to Bautista at the start of the Fourth Floor to gather information about the Iron Tangle. Bautista met up with some crawlers to go further down the line. He also received the It's Not My Fault You Fish-Headed Assholes Don't Properly Program Your Quests Box (and presumably the Cuck Aquaman Achievement).

Bautista reaches out to Carl that Imani met him in the Desperado Club and needs to talk to him about Chris Andrews and Brandon Andrews. Imani mentions she'll be at the Desperado after each Recap Episode. Bautista warns Carl that some crawlers have been looking to collect Leaderboard bounties. ^[1]

Bautista takes a group of crawlers further down the line to look for a way to the earlier stations with stairwells. He goes towards station 433 with a group of about 400 crawlers. Carl messages him too late that the station is a trap for the Station Mimic. ^[3]

The crawlers who escape the Station mimic at 433 make it to station 435 to negotiate with a Kravyad who attempts to hypnotize the crawlers. Bautista counters the spell. The Kravyad then threatens to kill herself, which would close the portal, preventing any crawlers who sold their Train Conductor's Souvenir Hat from going through the portal in the Abyss Station gate. ^[4] They try paralyzing the Kravyad, but she ends up dying. This strands the approximately 250 crawlers who don't have their hats anymore at the end of the line, including Bautista. ^[5]

Carl and the Royal Court initiate the End of the Line Rescue to save ~1400 crawlers including Bautista's group. During the rescue the plan goes off the rails and the Royal Court end up traveling to station 435 personally. Bautista and Katia talk and he convinces the other crawlers at the end of the line to give their borrowed Train Conductor's Souvenir Hat's back to Donut after they pass through a portal back to Train yard H. ^[6]
