Gear
Starting Gear
Carl enters the Dungeon with only his leather coat, boxers, Beatrice's ill-fitting pink croc sandals, a Zippo lighter, and half a pack of Marlboro Red cigarettes.[2][3]
Gear Gained
Within an hour of entering the First Floor, Carl receives a Goblin Pass Tattoo on his left inner forearm, which he grumbles about because he had never wanted tattoos.[4][5] At the same time, he puts on the Enchanted Trollskin Shirt of Pummeling, attaches the Enchanted Nightgaunt Cloak of Stoutness to his leather coat (Mordecai later notes that it occupies his "neck" slot), and puts the Enchanted Toe Ring of the Splatter Skunk onto his right index toe.[5][6] Some six hours later, he gains a Silver Ring of +1 CON, which he wears on a finger.[7]
He wears unenchanted fingerless gloves for the first two days or so, and wraps a chainlink leash around his right fist during the Hoarder battle (around one day after the Dungeon opens).[8] After the battle, he receives and immediately equips the Enchanted Spiked Kneepads of the Shade Gnoll Riot Forces.[9] With 3 Days, 2 Hours to level collapse, he punches a Slime, which dissolves his right glove and the right arm of his leather jacket, but leaves the chain on his fist gleaming and polished.[10]
Carl gains the Goblin Copper Chopper. With 2 Days 18 Hours to level collapse, Carl receives the Desperado Pass Tattoo on his neck and a Silver Ring of +2 CON, which he wears on his left ring finger.[11] With just under 2 days to level collapse, he receives the Enchanted War Gauntlet of the Exalted Grull and equips it on his right wrist.[12]
