Casino is a part of the Desperado Club, located on all three floors of the club.
Description
The casino is not as glitzy and loud as a Vegas casino, with sultry jazz-like music playing and patrons quietly gambling. On the First Floor of the casino there are a collection of Earth games with six card tables, a roulette wheel, a vertical wheel of fortune type game and a craps table. There are no slot machines. NPCs huddle over the smoky tables, quietly gambling. [1]
Eight tuxedoed Crocodilian guards cover the room, including two closed spiral staircases that lead down to the Second Floor Hunting Grounds level and the Third Floor Larracos level. [1]
Games
Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune is a vertical wheel filled with random prizes. Most of the slots are the same size. Slightly more than half the slots are red with bad prizes on them. The Nothing! spot takes up two spaces and one of them, 500,000 gold, was a tiny sliver with “Spin Again” on either side. Every bet over the minimum removes a negative red spot and adds a positive one. Prize Examples:
- "Nothing"
- “Get stabbed in the stomach by the croupier”
- “Get poisoned”
- “Vomit blood for ten minutes straight.”
- “A new pet”
- “50,000 gold”
- “A Legendary Weapon box”
- “Unlimited Free Handies over at Bitches or Penis Parade.”
- Various Platinum and Legendary boxes.
Tito is the croupier of the game and he assures Carl (who assumed the game is rigged) that the game is "100% on the up-and-up".
Roulette Table
The guy running the table is human, and the NPCs playing are a mix of elves, humans and orcs. Instead of the classic red and black of traditional roulette, the symboles are four different colors and symbols, including a bone and knives, and a ringed planet. [1]
There is a version of the table called the "High Rollers Roulette Table" that is only available on the Hunting Grounds level of the casino. [1]
Nothing Spot
Both games have an option to land on a "Nothing!" spot. Rather than not doing anything, landing on the Nothing spot casts the individual into the Nothing.
Story
Book 2
Carl receives a Platinum Lucky Bastard Box for the Lazarus Achievement when he is hit by Tsarina Signet's spell. [2] Inside is a 100,000 Gold Coin Casino Chip x 1 [3]
Book 3
Carl goes into the Casino to spend his Gold Chip. Since they are only on the Fourth Floor the only spot he can spend it at is the Wheel of Fortune game. At first he is hesitant to play since the red spots don't justify the good spots, but since the chip eliminates all the bad spots except for the “Get stabbed in the stomach by the croupier” and "Nothing" he decides to play. In reality he is doing this as a distraction for Donut so she can stop thinking about the attack by Ji-Hoon a couple minutes earlier.
The first spin lands on a "spin again" so the croupier goes to spin it again. As he's spinning it, Carl sees an NPC get hurled into the Nothing for landing on a "Nothing!" spot on the roulette wheel. With alarm, Carl realizes that it is not a nothing happens spot, but an actual horrific result to land on it. The spot eventually lands on a Scroll of Upgrade slot which applies to his Enchanted Toe Ring of the Splatter Skunk. [1]
