Desperado Pass Tattoo

“What gives them the right to just defile me like this? What gives them the right! Oh my god! It’s a disqualifying mark. It’s a disqualifying mark, Carl! I’m damaged!”[1]

The Desperado Pass is a tattoo that grants crawlers access to the Desperado Club, and may be received in an Asshole's Box and/or after a crawler earns their first Player-Killer Skull.[2][3] The tattoo burns as it is applied to the crawler's neck (or, if a cat, above the right shoulder blade), and looks like a dagger dripping blood.[2]

Most crawlers receive the pass by doing something horrific then receiving an Asshole's Box such as behaving horrifically towards NPCs or killing a Crawler.

AI Description

Great. Now you’re running with the type of kids who sit in the back of the bus. What would your mother say?

This pass allows access to the Desperado Club.

Warning: Holding a Desperado Pass negates the ability to obtain a Vanquisher pass.[4]

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 3

Katia Grim mentions to Donut that she doesn't have a tattoo and asks how Carl and Donut got theirs. Carl quickly changes the subject. Elle McGibbons mentions she got her pass when she "“accidentally shot an icicle up the keister of an orc bartender on that last floor.”[6]

Katia gets her tattoo when she opens her boxes for killing Hekla. [3]
