Enchanted Nightgaunt Cloak of Stoutness

“Nor am I wearing a cloak that makes me look like I won a participation trophy at the special needs comic con, Carl. I’m a cat. Cats don’t wear pants. Don’t be so droll.”[1]

The Enchanted Nightgaunt Cloak of Stoutness buffs constitution and provides various resistances when equipped. It is a lightweight hooded cloak that appears to have been crafted from a demon's wing, with nightgaunt skin stretched across rows of body-length fingerbones. The hood, when worn up, has pointed ears on either side.[2]

Description

The wearer of this cloak gains +4 to Constitution and becomes resistant to poison and ice-based attacks. In addition, the cloak adds Anti-Piercing resistance to all worn armor. It also makes you look like a dollar store Batman.

Warning: if a Nightgaunt spies you wearing this, they probably won’t be too happy with you.[3]

Appearance

It is a black hooded cloak that appears to be the leathery wing of a demon creature. The cloak has finger-like bones running the length of the cloak. With the hood up, the hood has ears on either side of the head. [2]

Story

Book 1

Carl receives the Nightgaunt Cloak in a Gold Apparel Box for the Why Aren't You Wearing Pants? Achievement after entering the Dungeon in only his leather jacket, boxers, and Bea's ill-fitting pink crocs.[4] He wears it on top of his leather jacket; according to Mordecai, it is equipped to his "neck" spot.[5] When Donut runs low on mana points, she latches onto Carl's back and hides under the cloak.

Book 2

When fighting the Shadow Leaks, Carl's cloak protects him from the stinging cold attacks. [6]
