“He’ll take your skin and my bones,” Levi cried.”[1]

Fleshers are undead, sentient mobs that appear on the Fourth Floor, and are often found on the Ninth Floor.[1]

AI Description

Minion of War Mage Dismember – Swamp Orc Flesher – Level 10.
Ahh, isn’t it cute? It wants to give you a hug.[2]

As part of the description for Levi the 7th:

This Flesher's only goal is to find a new set of bones. When a Flesher finds a victim, its skin unfurls and smothers the body, killing the victim and burning away their flesh. The Flesher then casts the only spell it knows: Boned, reanimating the skeleton into a Skellie. The flesher merges with the skellie, becoming a Symbiote, and is no longer considered a minion of the caster. Other Fleshers seek out Symbiotes, "drawn to their former companion’s new bones.“

If a Flesher kills a Symbiote, this second iteration is more intelligent and powerful than the last.[3] It’s rare for a symbiote to be resleeved at least a dozen times, but when it happens, the magic itself can become sapient. When this happens, the flesh finally fuses to the reanimated skeleton, turning the three creatures—the skeleton, the flesher, and the sapient well of magic—into a single being. A war mage. This process usually takes at least 12 iterations, but there’s no hard rule about it. Sometimes it takes up to 15 or 16 iterations, depending on the latent magic in the skin of the fleshers.

Description

Fleshers are created by the brutal War Mage spell, You're Not Done Yet. When the spell is cast on a fallen creature, the creature's flesh rips from its body and becomes a sentient minion of the caster. Fleshers are oftentimes tossed across the battlefield, landing in and around the trenches of the enemy.[1]

The newly freed flap of skin fly through the air like manta-rays.One side of the flesher's skin feels almost plastic-like, and rips easily; the other side is coated in caustic, burning blood.[1]

Story
