Gondii

“First off, don’t buy anything this worm head is trying to sell. Most Valtay are tricksy fuckers, but the naked ones are the worst. If they ain’t riding a body, that’s usually a sign there’s something wrong with them."- Quasar[1]

Gondii are an alien race of a parasitic worms who occupy and maintain dead bodies. The Gondii are the citizens and controlling agents of the Valtay corporate government.[2]

Description

If a Gondii enters a dead body within hours of the body's natural death, it can reactivate the body and access its memories.[2] Unlike Intellect Hunters, Gondii secrete a liquid that keeps the host body alive and functioning for centuries.[3][2]

Their home world is aquatic and generally they prefer water-based hosts (such as the Kua-Tin or Gleeners). [4]

Society

Gondii are part of the Valtay corporate government. Many Syndicate celebrities, including Manasa and Drick, contract with the Valtay to continue their careers after death.[5]

"Naked" Gondii

Some Gondii (such as Orren) may choose not to occupy a host body, and instead occupy a face-shaped vat of liquid on a mechanical body. These deviants are referred to as "naked" gondii.[6]
