I needed what he had, but he insulted me, so I killed him.[1]

Justice Light is a Skyfowl of the White Cliffs, former crawler, and author of the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook (8th Edition). They contributed to the cookbook's discussion of NPCs and warned future crawlers of "trap shops."[1]

Story

Dungeon History

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 7
Justice Light took an Exit Deal at the start of the Eleventh Floor working as a Game Guide. His final level was 89.

While he was in his indentureship, he worked in the trap shop where he killed the NPC. His neighbor was Dante, though he remained unaware of his neighbor's affiliation with the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook (Item).

He returned to the dungeon to help Carl and Donut's faction on Floor 9. He developed a number of traps to protect the FUPA, though most of them were never triggered. At one point, he convinced Juice Box and the changelings to aid Carl's faction in earnest. At the end of the floor, Justice triggered a legendary trap made from the Gate of the Feral Gods, a bijou fairy trap and a demon trap, which broke the Nothing and drained it into Scolopendra's lair, Sheol and The Halls of the Ascendency.

Appearance

The one-winged skyfowl was shorter and stockier than most. His feathers were all black, tinged with gray, and a twin tuft of feathers upon his head gave the impression he had horns, making him look strangely like he was related to Big Tina.[2]

<Note by Crawler Justice Light, Eighth Edition>

I made a mistake today. I killed an NPC I shouldn’t have. We are a strong people, the skyfowl of the white cliffs. We do not take insults without retribution. He was a proprietor of a store selling trap supplies in a large settlement here on the sixth floor. I needed what he had, but he insulted me, so I killed him. It let me take the item that was on the shelf. But he had so much more. He always said the items were in the back, but there was nothing there. I think everything was in his inventory, but it appears shopkeepers don’t drop their full inventory if you kill them. Now the town guards are after me, and the shop, which was a good source of supplies for me and many others, is just gone, and I fear the whole operation is going to fail thanks to my actions. It was the only trap shop on the whole floor.

This is something we should note and remain aware of. Do not make the same mistake as me. Killing of these innocents should be kept to a minimum, unless absolutely necessary.[3][1]

<Note Added by Crawler Justice Light, Eighth Edition>

I think about him all of the time. I have killed many NPCs since I arrived in this horror, but I have only killed one out of anger. he did not deserve that, and it haunts me. I keep going over it. It's the manifestation of how I've changed, all boiled down to a single incident. The old me wouldn't have done that. Snapped and just killed someone.

The memory is abhorrent to me. I have become what I hate.

At this point, the only thing that calms my nerves is the hope that my trap ideas and plans within this scroll will help someone lese. It is all I have.[4][1]
