Kravyad are either a boss or an NPC, depending on the person describing them, that work for the Iron Tangle, responsible for employee management. They are located at Station 435 where the employees get off the train.

Description

There are a few dozen Kravyad that work directly under Madison on the Iron Tangle as part of the human resources department. They are a part of management's initiative to increase productivity. The Kravyad hypnotize the conductors and porters so they don't remember their break time and are less likely to ask for time off if they don't remember time between shifts. [1]

The Kravyad take their payment by eating one or two dwarves a shift. If a dwarf thinks to ask for time off before they get on the train, Madison gives them a gold arm band and those are the dwarves the Kravyad eat. [1]

The portal back to the Train yard is tied to the life force of the Kravyad, where if they die, the portal disappears. [1]

Appearance

They look like Naga but are blue with six arms. [1]

Story

Book 3

Gore-Gore explains to the Royal Court of Princess Donut that the Kravyad are in charge of Iron Tangle employee return. They use "dark magic" before returning the employees through a Portal. [2]

Madison is the benefits manager for the Kravyad and the Station Mimics. [3]

Bautista encounters a Kravyad at station 435 who attempted to hypnotize the crawlers. He counters the spell. The Kravyad then threatens to kill herself, which would close the portal, preventing any crawlers who sold their Train Conductor's Souvenir Hat from going through the portal in the Abyss Station gate. [4]

They try paralyzing the Kravyad, but she ends up dying. This strands the approximately 250 crawlers who don't have their hats anymore at the end of the line, including Bautista. [5]

Brynhild's Daughters face a Kravyad and Sadie (a daughter) casts her Glass Prison Spell to immobilize it. This allows the Daughters to come to Train yard H and meet up with the Royal Court of Princess Donut. [6]

Speculation

Due to the political nature of the Iron Tangle, these are most likely a political statement on the Naga.
