The tonic is packaged in a set that includes plastic gloves, cotton swabs, multiple trays of assorted size and brushes, and an extremely long paper fold-out pamphlet with convoluted instructions.^[2]^[3]

Operation

Rev-Up Magic Hair Restoration Tonic can be mixed in multiple ways to produce any of a dozen types of hair including head hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes (the recipe for which is almost identical to pubic hair). The cold, bubbling mix is then applied to any surface to stimulate near-instantaneous hair growth. Hair length is determined by how long the tonic remains in contact with the skin. For two weeks after the application, hair will regrow to the exact same length within two hours every time it is cut.^[3]

Carl acquires this item from Gore-Gore's corpse on the Fourth Floor. ^[1]

SPOILERS FOR BOOK 7

Shortly after arriving on the Ninth Floor, Katia Grim applies the Hair Tonic to Carl's head, eyebrows, and eyelashes in a safe room. The plan was to have Splash Zone use magic to remove the hair tonic, but the spell fails due to safe room rules, and Carl emerges with waist-length "wavy, shining hair."^[3]
